What are hands‑free safety tools?

Hands‑free safety tools are purpose‑built industrial tools that help workers guide, push, pull, rotate, retrieve or position suitable loads while reducing direct hand contact.

Why direct hand contact creates serious lifting exposure

Suspended and mechanically handled loads do not always remain stable. A load may swing, rotate, drift, roll or move unexpectedly — and workers often place their hands on it when trying to correct that movement.

Where a hand or finger can be caught between two objects, or between a moving load and a fixed surface — a beam approaching a support, a spool entering a rack, a sling tightening against a component.

Crush & caught‑between zones

A worker may be exposed when a load shifts towards a wall, column, machinery base, container or another load, leaving insufficient time to remove the hand safely.
